HOW TO: Knit your own Jumbo Hottie


KNIT SAFARI Jumbo Hot Water Bottle Cover
I think there is nothing better than snuggling up with a hot water bottle when the weather is chilly, or  you have achey sore muscles giving you strife. This super chunky knitted hot water bottle cover is perfect for jazzing up a boring rubber bottle. Want to whip up your own? Keep reading below!
Materials:
Techniques:
  • Figure 8 cast on
  • circular knitting
Tension:
3 stitches x 4 rows = 10cm/4" square for Knit stitch
Measurements:
Approximately 20cm wide and 35cm long
Instructions:
  1. Cast on 12 stitches using a Figure 8 cast on, or your favourite seamless cast on, and join in the round, taking care not to twist your cast on edge. Place stitch marker. Not sure how to do this? There are loads of great tutorials here.
  2. Knit for 11 rounds
  3. *SSK, knit 2 stitches, k2tog*, repeating the section between the stars one more time (8 stitches)
  4. Knit for 2 rounds.
  5. Cast off. Roll your hot water bottle lengthwise, and insert it into the cover.
  6. Step back and admire your work, and post a photo on Instagram using #knitsafari so we can all see your snuggly chunky hot water bottle!
