The Snoody

You guys... another free chunky knitting pattern! The lovely team at Cygnet Yarns asked to work with me on another cute pattern for you guys, and I’m so excited to share it with you!The inspiration behind this was a wearable snood – part Katniss Everdeen, part Kangaroo pouch, 100% cosy. I worked with Katie, the Director and Co-Founder of Cygnet Yarns (who has an enviable family history in the yarn trade!!) to create this for you, using their incredible Seriously Chunky yarn in Light Grey. The Mossy

As a yarn-obsessed knitophile, I’m always on the hunt for new and interesting yarns to try. I’m also trawling through Instagram, Pinterest, magazines and blogs for inspiration, and I have a whole lot of exciting things to share with you in the coming months! One of my favourite discoveries is London-based @sincerelylouise, who makes THE cutest, quirkiest faux-taxidermy knit sculptures (if you haven’t checked her out, please do!) Both Seriously Chunky and Mythically Chunky come in a range of gorgeous colours, and I took the plunge and bought the yarn. As soon as I had...

Spills are gently blotted out before they stain, the garment is nicely folded and not strewn across my bedroom, and I get excited to wear the piece and build an outfit around it - not to mention, tell people that I made it!The fast-fashion industry is built on replicating trends as quickly as possible, and while this means that shoppers can...

Wool Week 2016

Wool Week 2016 & Hobbycraft The Campaign for Wool is now in its seventh year, with the aim to educate people about wool. As a natural and renewable fibre, wool is versatile and has many benefits - it is breathable so keeps you warm and dry in the winter, and helps cool you down in summer. This year, Hobbycraft asked me to create a hat using the West Yorkshire Spinners 100% Jason DK yarn. After various swatches and tests, I settled on an oversized chunky hat with a deep brim and giant pompom. Extreme knits and yarns are a huge trend in the fashion and knitwear industry right now, so this pattern uses the yarn held double to get a...
